Your marketing is already great, but how can you make it better?
Landing Pages
What is a landing page?
By definition, a landing page is considered a “lead capture” page, or a webpage specifically used for capturing leads for a marketing or advertising campaign. A landing page is where a visitor “lands” when they have clicked on an ad, typed in a web address from your marketing campaign or clicked on your email promotion. To put it plainly, your landing page is unlike any other page on your website; it should standalone with all the necessary information and should not lead anywhere else. The goal of a landing page is to convert leads, so be sure not to add any extra links or hyperlinked images that navigate away from the landing page.
Why are they important?
A landing page has the opportunity to bring you countless leads if you utilize it correctly. Let’s take for example a dental office. This specific dental office is doing a free cleaning for every new customer and wants to promote this offer with a display ad and a corresponding landing page. This dental office would utilize a landing page by mirroring the page to their postcard or ad campaign. If your landing page has conflicting information from your ad campaign, consumers will be confused as to what exactly you want them to do; don’t give them the opportunity to be confused or question what you want from them, show them exactly what you want them to do, be it by using “Register Here” or “Download Now” or “Click to Receive Your Free Cleaning Voucher.”

Tracking Numbers
What is a tracking number?
Tracking numbers are phone numbers created for a marketing campaign. Call tracking numbers give a business the ability to track the number of calls they receive, listen to the calls, and thoroughly analyze if the lead on the call was converted. Asking a person who is calling in from an ad where they found your ad can be time-consuming, and not all consumers will remember. A call tracking number eliminates that uncertainty and provides you with actionable data for your campaign.
Why are they important?
Call tracking numbers give businesses the ability to track how many calls come in from a certain campaign. Think – if your advertisement says “Call for More Information” but doesn’t have a tracking number, you have no way to decipher who called in from the marketing campaign versus who called in on a whim. Implementing a tracking number is a painless process that can be set up within minutes, and considering your ROI (return on investment), pays for itself with the first sale.

Promo Codes
What are promo codes?
A promotional code (promo code) is an alphanumeric code that can be used for discounted services or products and provide a method in which you can track a specific marketing campaign. Promo codes are most commonly used in eCommerce but can also be used to track sales for other marketing pieces as well.
Why are they important?
Promo codes are a way for businesses to track a marketing campaign with custom-tailored promotional codes that correlate with the specific campaign. These are especially useful in eCommerce, or when a business is selling items or services online. By utilizing a promo code you can track which services or products are being purchased from a specific campaign. Promo codes don’t have to just be for eCommerce however. You can also attach a promo code to a postcard mailer for the customer to bring in, in which case you would simply add a button on your POS (point of sale) system for the discount.

Direct Mail
What is direct mail?
Direct mail is a method of marketing that has been utilized for thousands (no, seriously!) of years! The first record of direct mail marketing was seen in 1000 BC in Ancient Egypt. As they say, “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” Direct mail is a process in which you market your product or services to people via postcards, letters, brochures, really any method in which you send your marketing through the mail. This method gives you the ease of access to a wider target audience, who you can target based upon numerous demographics.
Why is it important?
Did you know, over 40% of direct mail recipients read the direct mail they get, and over 70% of consumers prefer getting ads via direct mail so they can read it at their leisure? This opens the door to advertisers to engage their consumers on a more personal level. You can customize your direct mail pieces to include the recipients’ first and last name, which, if you think about it, when you see your name your eyes are immediately drawn to it to see what it is. That small bit of a personal touch is what could make you stand out from the competition. Direct mail plays a pivotal role in every industry’s marketing, are you capitalizing on it?

Display Ads
What are display ads?
Display and search ads are the advertisements you see when you’re scrolling a webpage. There 3 main types of display ads: Retargeting, Lead Conversion, and Brand Recognition.
• Retargeting is the act of targeting users that have visited your website in the past. You can follow this user by installing an anonymous cookie (or a few lines of code) onto the user’s internet browser. This cookie only tracks the site’s visit and does not store or retrieve any personal information from the user. When you leave this site, take a look around on another website you get on and you’ll notice advertisements from many other websites you’ve visited recently.
• Lead conversion is a type of ad in which you have a definitive goal; to convert the user (or lead) into a buyer. Many of these ads can be targeted to a user based on a specific product they were looking at. For example, James is looking at a new cooler online, but he gets distracted and leaves the webpage before making his purchase. Later that evening James is scrolling through his social media and sees an ad from the company for the exact cooler he was looking at. This reminds him about the cooler and he clicks the ad and continues to the purchase. James has now been converted from a Lead to a Buyer!
• Brand recognition is a pretty simple concept; get your brand out to as many people as you can. You can make this as broad or as selective as you’d like; the broader the terms, the more people will see your ad. These ads will usually have a generic call to action like “Call to Learn More” and are used to get your brand in front of as many people as you can, not necessarily trying to sell them at that exact moment, but more about letting them know your brand exists and how it can benefit them.
Why are they important?
As the world has become more digital, so have the marketing techniques. Display ads are everywhere, on every site, and every social media platform. By not utilizing digital advertising, you are falling behind to your competitors that are, and are missing key demographics of people that could utilize your product or service. Implementing display ads is a fairly simple process and can be done on any budget.
